BS-Kavkaz is an analytical and research center dedicated to the study of political, economic, social, historical, security, and geopolitical developments across the Black Sea and Caucasus region.
Our work seeks to provide researchers, policymakers, professionals, journalists, students, and the wider public with accessible, evidence-based analysis of a region shaped by complex historical relationships, strategic interests, economic connections, security challenges, and cultural diversity.
Our Research
The Center’s research focuses on issues including:
- regional politics and governance;
- international relations and geopolitics;
- security and conflict;
- economic development and regional connectivity;
- energy and infrastructure;
- Black Sea regional affairs;
- South and North Caucasus developments;
- history, society, and cultural relations;
- migration and demographic trends; and

Research Principles
BS-Kavkaz aims to maintain high standards of accuracy, independence, transparency, and responsible research.
Our analytical work is based, where appropriate, on publicly available information, academic research, official documents, statistical data, expert analysis, interviews, historical sources, and other relevant materials.
We seek to distinguish factual reporting from analysis and opinion and to identify sources wherever reasonably possible.
The Black Sea and Caucasus region includes politically sensitive issues, contested historical interpretations, territorial disputes, and differing national perspectives. The terminology or geographical descriptions used in a publication are intended for analytical purposes and do not in themselves constitute a position regarding sovereignty, territorial status, recognition, or any political claim.
Independence
Research conclusions should reflect the evidence, methodology, and professional judgment of the relevant authors.
Unless expressly stated otherwise, views expressed by individual authors, contributors, interview participants, or guest experts are their own and do not necessarily represent an institutional position of BS-Kavkaz.
Where the Center receives external financial or institutional support for a research project, relevant relationships should be disclosed where appropriate. Financial support should not determine research findings or conclusions.
Accuracy and Corrections
We aim to publish accurate and appropriately sourced information.
Research concerning contemporary events may change as additional information becomes available. Historical and political subjects may also involve conflicting sources and interpretations.
If a significant factual error is identified, BS-Kavkaz may correct or update the publication and, where appropriate, indicate that a correction or revision has been made.
